About the Role
We're exploring the edges of art direction and AI – and we’re looking for someone who lives in that intersection. This is a flexible, project-based role for someone with strong independent creative taste, but who’s also hands-on with AI image workflows. You’ll collaborate across consumer and tech brands to concept, shape, and execute visual directions that blend human insight with machine-assisted production.
You don’t need to call yourself an “AI artist.” But you should have the taste and technical curiosity to lead creative vision with the support of modern tools – not be led by them.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with brand and design leads to establish and evolve visual concepts for content and campaigns
- Translate brand worlds into clear, repeatable visual systems using a mix of traditional and AI workflows
- Concept and direct original imagery (photo, video, 3D, AI-generated), whether for interactive sites, launch campaigns, or pitch decks
- Iterate quickly: explore, generate, and refine concepts using tools like ChatGPT, Visual Electric, Midjourney, etc.
- Build and communicate strong references, moodboards, and production-ready asset guidance
You Might Be a Fit If…
- You have 3-5+ years of experience in brand design, art direction, or content creation
- You have a sharp eye and independent creative taste – the “old world” kind – and you can carry a vision without needing prompts
- You’ve worked with AI tools for visual generation and/or video (Midjourney, SD, Runway, etc.) and are curious to push their limits
- You’re as comfortable directing a photoshoot as you are building a visual world from scratch
- You’re collaborative, open, and fast-moving – someone who can help us get from 0→1 and experiment with us as we go
Nice to Have
- Motion or 3D chops
- Experience in brand identity, campaign work, or multi-channel art direction
- A portfolio that shows breadth across mediums, with an emphasis on conceptual clarity
What to Submit
- Portfolio or reel
- A note about the AI tools you’re currently using or exploring
- Your availability and preferred working cadence (project-based, ongoing, etc.)
Thank You.
We appreciate your consideration. We will do our best to view every submission carefully, and in a timely manner. Please allow a few business days for us to get back to your submission, and we look forward to hopefully talking more.
Cheers,
Little Plains
